In this article, we will discuss the first thing you need to do when you start playing Core Keeper: character makeup and recommended jobs!

What is Core Keeper?

Core Keeper is a popular cave sandbox action-survival game that sold 250,000 copies in less than a week after its early access release.

Set in a mysterious underground world, players increase resources through exploration, defeat enemies, and cooperate with friends to build a base of operations in order to eventually conquer several bosses.

About Core Keeper Character Makeup

In Core Keeper, the first step is to create a character for your character.

You can choose your own visual style and occupation, so please refer to the following recommended occupations when creating your character.

Select CHARACTER TYPE

The first step is to determine the character type, which can be either STANDARD or HARDCORE.

The character type can also be referred to as the game mode or game difficulty for that character.

STANDARD

This mode allows you to revive your character as many times as you want without losing your character, even if you die. This is the default mode selection for starting a normal core keeper.

HARDCORE

In the event of death, the character is permanently lost and cannot be resurrected. Items that were in your possession at the time of death can be obtained from the tombstone (Tombstone) by entering that world with another character.

Unless there is some special reason to do so, it is basically better to start in Standard when you first make up your character.

CREATE CHARACTER (CREATE CHARACTER) Visual creation

After selecting a character type, you can choose your character’s appearance and occupation.

Press the left and right arrows below the character visual preview that appears in the center of the screen to rotate the character and see how it looks from the front, diagonally, and from behind.

Also, pressing the dice symbol will randomly select items other than name, so if you’re not sure about the look, you can use that as well!

BODY

The first choice is the body, which is the deformation that gives the impression of the character’s atmosphere.

Choose either the left pattern with large eyes and a pop, cute taste, or the right pattern with less deformation.

In addition to the size of the eyes, the thickness of the arms (width of the shoulders) also changes a little.

SKIN

Next, choose your skin, or skin color.

There are four levels, from white to black, so choose the color you like.

HAIR

Then choose your hair and hairstyle.

There are a total of nine different hairstyles, ranging from the common Shichisan hairstyle, shaved head, Mohawk or spiky hair style, long hair style with forehead showing, and bun hairstyle.

HAIR COLOR

Core Keeper Suggested Occupation/Birth!

After all, which profession and upbringing do you recommend? I can hear you say, “I don’t know,” so I’ll answer…

To be honest, it makes no difference which one you choose.

If you are not a “wanderer,” you will be able to ration or prepare simple food in any occupation, so you will not have much trouble.

However, if you are really looking for efficiency in the early stages, we recommend “miners” because they have a “copper pickaxe” and are a little faster in their initial exploration.

If you are in the efficiency kitchen and just want to make an efficient career choice, you can choose “miner”.

summary

At this time, you cannot change your name or the visuals of your character during character makeup.

Even if you don’t like your initial character make-up and occupation settings later in the game, you cannot change them, so think carefully about your character make-up at the beginning.

As for occupation, honestly, there is almost no difference in play, and anything would be fine, so you can choose whatever occupation (background) you like!
